When it comes to buying a hot tub, we’re all about comfort, quality and exciting features, but price is always a major factor to consider too. So, let’s compare the wood-fired hot tub prices from the top five brands in the UK – Royal Tubs, Gardenvity, Skargards, The Log Company (Kirami) and TimberIN.
Pricing is, of course, subject to seasonality, marketing strategies and economic fluctuations, which is why our article may become slightly outdated within a matter of months, or even days after we post it. While these prices may not be 100% exact in future, they do give you a general sense and a great indication of the different costs on the market so you can compare and contrast each brand. The price figures discussed here are valid as of October 2022.
The differences between the prices of wood-fired hot tub models produced by each brand are because of a range of factors: the materials used, technical design solutions, aesthetics and packaging. There is no doubt that it matters a great deal whether a simple screw is driven by a carpenter from York or someone from the Scottish Highlands. Equally, the overall quality of wood-fired hot tubs depends not only on their price, but on details such as where they are manufactured as well. However, these extra details would be hard to calculate and compare clearly, so we have decided to instead consider different features and components of wood-fired hot tubs as the basis for our price comparison. Armed with this information, you will be able to decide on the overall look and quality of the products and get a clue of how much the different components cost depending on the seller.
When discussing prices, it is critical to state at the very beginning that the starting hot tub prices displayed by many brands on their websites will often increase substantially once you add everything you need to your order.
This is our longest comparison article, so feel free to scroll through to the parts that are most relevant to you, or get yourself a cuppa to sit down and read the whole thing.
What does a wood-fired hot tub order generally include?
- The hot tub with or without a liner and wood-burner stove
- Delivery
- VAT and customs/import duties (if made outside the UK)
- Important parts and accessories without which you would not be able to use the hot tub fully:
• water filter
• massage system
• steps
• full chimney assembly (with heat protection, rain cowl)
• drain tap
• cover
You will see that some sellers include most of the above, while others will show the ‘from £X’ price just for the hot tub alone

Given its Swedish quality, mesmerising looks, Skargards’ presence in the wood-fired hot tub market and a range of other factors, the initial prices on this brand’s website appear more than just attractive. What you should be alerted to, however, is that you will have to add things like an insulated lid, steps, chimney heat guard, water filter or a massage system as extra accessories. Some of these are crucial for safe and efficient hot tub use, so please bear the prices of these components in mind – which are not that cheap to start with.
The largest, most all-inclusive Skargards model available is their marvellous and spacious 8-10 seater Regal (looks absolutely stunning!) model with a DualBurn stove which costs £8,410 with all of the best accessories included.
A Regal hot tub for 5-7 people with a fibreglass liner and a standard burner (starting at £3,590), insulated lid, side shelf, SPA system, steps, chimney guard, chimney rain cowl and water filter (all of these parts combined add another £2,900) make for a total of £6,490.
UK mainland shipping is included in the price too. A £100 transport fee applies to shipments to Scottish Highlands and Northern Ireland, and those living in offshore island regions have to get a tailored quote.

Cost
Although it’s not that easy to locate a clear list of TimberIN’s full product range on their website, as its functionality is in need of some improvements, with time and patience, you’ll get there. We recommend you try to start your search here.
Important: Since TimberIN is not a UK-registered company, their prices include 0% VAT and you will need to pay the customs clearance fee of 20% of the total hot tub price. This means you have to add at least another fifth to any prices seen on their website as well as in our comparison guide. This information has been confirmed by a TimberIN staff member.
The most affordable TimberIN wood-fired ofuro hot tubs start from approximately €1,710 (~ £1,490), but please note that this only includes a wooden tub without a heater. Adding an external heater, insulated cover, water filter, air massage system, chimney protection, water drain with hose connections and shipping, the price more than doubles to €4,135 (£3,600)!
The most all-inclusive model you can buy from TimberIN is probably their SMART Pellet Thermowood model for 6-8 people which features all of the best accessories (even a Wi-Fi control app and hybrid heating system featuring a 15 kW electric heater) and a unique pellet stove for the jaw-dropping €9,444 (£8,222).
The TimberIN Rojal hot tub for 6-8 people with Thermowood finish, fibreglass liner, integrated stove, insulated cover, massage system and water filtration systems, 2 LEDs, and shipping totals at €5,150 (£4,484).
You will be asked to check the shipping box as you start selecting accessories. TimberIN has a charge of €180 (£157) for delivery to central England and Wales, or €390 (£340) to other parts of the UK and Ireland.
We recommend you check out how TimberIN’s Rojal model looks directly on their e-store here since we don’t have permission to publish their visual material.
We hope this comprehensive price comparison has provided you with the information you need when deciding on which hot tub to buy from which brand. We promise to come back and update the prices if noticeable changes occur. For now, make the most of this extensive guide to offer a better understanding of what you can expect to pay for your dream wood-fired hot tub!
